NorCal MilSim is the home of LZ-5, and a place for those interested in military simulations using airsoft weapons.
We are a group of volunteers who want to participate in MilSim events. Having found that there were not enough opportunities available in the area, we started hosting monthly events. These take a lot of time, planning and some expenses on our part to run. Please understand that our involvement in these events relies entirely on profit-less volunteerism. To be more precise, LZ-5 events are not business ventures. Everyone pays the landowner to play on his land. The folks who put these games together do so simply to participate in team based immersive milsim experiences more frequently than the Big Events allow. For this reason, we feel that ‘quality’ is far more important than ‘quantity’.
So here is what you will find at LZ-5:
We add rules to increase the realism and the challenge. Players are expected to operate at a higher standard than at many ‘airsoft’ venues.
Expect long days on full alert, with some intense battles. There may be hours where you do your best to watch your sector diligently, and later times where you’re patrolling for hours down wooded canyons, focused on every step you take: seeing in every shape and movement that ambush you dread.
Suisun valley is just outside the Bay area. There will be hot days. Cold days. Rain. We strive to be as tough as the warriors we seek to emulate.
Logistics. Conserving ammunition, calling for reinforcements. We try to keep it as realistic as we can.
Seeing the Benefits of Teamwork pay off. Solid formations which flatten the disorderly. Good use of terrain allowing teams to move right up onto an unprotected flank. Medics keeping you together in the fight.
Wild dog, video game, loose cannon, run and gun works for the suicidal, but unfortunately doesn’t play out well for those who go off without a team and their medic: the walks back to the fixed respawn point will probably be long and lonely. Those who want to practice modern unit based warfare in-between Lion Claws, Vietnam Airsoft Recondo School, and maybe, if you are really lucky, some of the Midwest and East Coast events, this will be your dream come true.
